The art and craft of hairdressing.
To get those beautifully defined curls without the frizz is one of the simplest things you can do.
Step 1. Know your hair. Is it…
A) Soft or course
B) thick or thin
C) dry or healthy.
Step 2. Get a good haircut.
A) Don’t be cheap. You get what you pay for!
B) Ask a friend to recommend someone or read some reviews on Google maps, Yell, Qype, Freeindex.
C) Never allow razors or thinning scissors to be used on your hair!
Step 3. Wash and Condition.
A) Use good professional products and try to make sure they are as natural as possible.
B) Do not be too rough when washing the hair as you will encourage the frizz. Comb the hair with your fingers and not with a comb or brush.
C) NEVER rub your hair dry with a towel! Always blot dry!
Step 4. Before you start to dry.
A)Take a good conditioner and rub vigorously between your hand till it becomes thick and creamy. It should feel almost dry in texture.
B) Apply evenly through the hair keeping it way from the scalp. Repeat this process 2-5 times depending on you hair length and thickness.
C) make sure there is as little frizz as possible before you start to dry!
Step 5.Leave to dry naturally or use a diffuser.
A) Keep the air flow slow and a medium to hot heat. Bring the diffuser from ends to scalp without twisting it. Avoid scrunching the hair. Let the curls appear on their own.
B) Never keep the hairdryer in one place for too long and do not over dry the hair. Keep doing this till the hair is between 80% and 90% dry.
Do not rush when doing your hair. The slower, the better the results.
C) Once you feel your hair is dry enough. Repeat Step 4 (A) but this time just wipe the frizz down. This should get rid of any little frizzies that have appeared!
